Both Israel's former Mossad chief and their current Mossad chief agree that the threat from Iran is overblown. In addition, "Zeevi Farkash, Israel’s former military intelligence chief, has said that Iran’s main drive for acquiring atomic weapons is not for use against Israel but as a deterrent against U.S. intervention."


Iran doesn't have an air force that can defeat a fleet of box kites or a navy that could take over Lake Winnebago. They can't produce enough of their own gasoline to run a lawn mower.

RON PAUL AND RACISM

Rep. Paul is being attacked for some racist comments made in some newsletters that were produced in his name, after he went back to his medical practice, between his two stints in the House of Representatives. The issue was brought up during the '07/'08 campaign as well.

He has apologized for not sufficiently monitoring the content of the newsletters, has disavowed the comments, and his entire public (and private) life has been a repudiation of the sentiments expressed in those few newsletters. The comments were written over 20 years ago. Dr. Paul became aware of them perhaps ten years ago. Here is NAACP president Nelson Linder, standing up for Dr. Paul on the issue. The NAACP takes every advantage of playing the race card if they think 1% of it might stick, so the very fact that a NAACP president has come out in behalf of Dr. Paul speaks loudly in his favor.

He simply mentions the newsletter as a source of economic information. If this is their proof that Dr. Paul is a racist, they are in trouble because a judge would throw this out of court in a fit of laughter.

Rep. Paul's personal and political philosophy has always been one of individual liberty and responsibility - not segregating people into various groups.

DR. PAUL (M.D.) AND DRUGS

Here's an area where people don't understand Dr. Paul's liberty position. As a medical doctor, he is not for ANY kind of substance abuse (including legal drugs). What he is for is FREEDOM.

Almost every substance has good and bad uses, and just because some people abuse them doesn't mean they should be made illegal for everyone. Drugs have only been "illegal" for about 50 years. Notice most of our drug problems have come since drugs were made illegal. That created a black market for them and made criminals out of many people who never committed violent crimes.

It's really not a matter of "legalizing" any drug. The fact is, the federal gov't should not be able to rule on substances one way or the other. That was not one of the few and specific areas our constitution gives fedgov authority in. It should be up to states and localities if they want to regulate any substances, from hemp to heroin. Anyone who wants the fedgov to control substances is violating our constitution and asking their representatives to violate their oaths of office. If we want them to LIE as their first official act of office, why should we be surprised when they lack integrity thereafter?

The biggest thing is that a gov't that is powerful enough to ban a weed is powerful enough to control or ban vitamins, supplements, alternative remedies, organic fruits & vegetables, fast food, red meat, raw milk, and pure water. And they have tried to control every one of those things.

Then the same gov't that decrees these things should be banned allows all kinds of toxic additives (in addition to processed sugar, corn syrup, and salt) to be put into our food, rat poison (fluoride) into our drinking water, and they want to pop every misbehaving kid on cocaine-like Ritalin. Who are they to tell us raw milk is dangerous? What makes the gov't expert on drugs, or anything?

The hemp situation is simply ridiculous. Hemp is impotent marijuana. It would take a joint the size of a telephone pole to get someone high - and no one could ever ingest enough to get high. Hemp has many valuable uses, like clothing and fuel. It would be a huge boon to our economy. Yet our gov't has made it illegal.

The bottom line is that the fedgov should not be involved in regulating any substances at all.

RON PAUL ON MARRIAGE & HOMOSEXUAL AGENDA

This is perhaps the issue Dr. Paul is most maligned for. Usually out of ignorance, though sometimes with malicious intent, many detractors accuse Dr. Ron Paul of supporting homosexual marriage. His own words show that he does not - though he does support freedom and limiting federal gov't to only those areas assigned to it by the constitution (and marriage is not one of them).

RON PAUL on GAY MARRIAGE: “Personally, I totally reject it. The whole idea of marriage should be between a man and a woman."

BTW, He gave that interview minutes after posing for the photo with me in Iowa. Additionally, from his latest book, "Liberty Defined", p. 185:

"I personally identify with the dictionary definition of marriage: 'The social institution under which a man and a woman establish their decision to live together as husband and wife by legal commitments or religious ceremony.'"

This is balanced by freedom:

"Why not tolerate everybody's definition as long as neither side uses force to impose its views on the other? ... With a lot less government involvement in our lives, this needless problem could be easily avoided. The best approach is to make marriage a private matter."

In fact, if we get gov't out of marriage altogether (like it used to be), that removes the ability of the lavender lobby to use the funds and force of gov't to propagate their sodomite agenda. Getting gov't out of marriage would totally disarm the homosexual lobby. The rest of us might lose some tax credits, but those clearly come with strings attached that we'd be better off without.

It states explicitly, "Prohibits the expenditure of Federal funds to any organization which presents male or female homosexuality as an acceptable alternative life style or which suggest that it can be an acceptable life style."


Rep. Paul also voted for an amendment to prohibit federal funding from going towards foster care children adopted by unmarried same sex or heterosexual couples. The amendment specifies that no federal money will support “the joint adoption of a child between individuals who are not related by blood or marriage.”

DR. PAUL ON EVOLUTION

Here is another area where some have been mistaken about Dr. Paul's position, and even lied about it:

RON PAUL ON ISRAEL

This is another commonly misunderstood position. Dr. Paul is accused of being anti-Semitic or anti-Israel, when the truth is virtually opposite of that claim.

This puts the lie to the false claim that Dr. Paul is anti-Israel. Anti-Paul people need to learn the TRUTH before they start slinging accusations against him. What is it about FREEDOM and adhering to our CONSTITUTION that you are so against?

Dr. Paul wants to end ALL foreign aid on the correct grounds that it is unconstitutional. Being that we give Israel's enemies THREE TIMES as much foreign aid as we give Israel, this would benefit Israel as well as American taxpayers. Not only that, but America has been more of a hindrance to Israel than a help. We have prevented them from making peace treaties with countries we have issues with. We have prevented them from retaliating when they've been attacked. The best thing that we could do for ourselves, and for Israel, is to stop meddling in the Middle East.
